Our Curriculum
The education we provide at Footsteps concentrates on four key factors – physical, intellectual, emotional and social in equal proportions. Our aim is to mould well balanced future citizens for the global village. Our curriculum is well founded and receives constant up gradation. It is essentially an ideal mixture of the Montessori and the Conventional. The guidelines for standard behaviour here are self discipline and self respect
The program for this school was formulated by three experienced educators :
Mrs. M Ramachandran - a nursery teacher throughout her life, she has 18 years experience in Sishya School . Now she runs her own nursery school at Lucknow
Mrs. Rachel Thomas – a teacher by profession and currently Vice Principal of St. Paul’s, New Delhi
Mrs. Soma Mathew – Registrar, Overseas Family School, Singapore.
In Detail...
Physical Development : A Footstepper advances in dexterity, muscle motor co ordination, eye hand co ordination and sensorial adroitness through planned activities such as PT sessions, elementary yoga , puzzle, art and craft sessions.
Intellectual Development : This includes acquiring language skills, environmental awareness, aesthetics and creativity and Academics. A Footstepper evolves a positive attitude to learning and cultivates flexible approaches to problem solving which develops original thinking. He or she also acquires the rudiments of Alphabets, Numbers, Colours, Shapes, Sizes, Songs & Rhymes etc
Emotional Development : We stimulate Self Expression in all areas which contributes to the emotional maturity of a Footstepper We develop self-reliance in most activities at school which in-turn gives Confidence. Dramatics is also used frequently to enhance expressiveness.
